What it is and why it is studied

Thymosin-derived peptides draw interest from research into actin, cell movement and tissue repair. For TB-500, identifying the exact peptide is essential to understanding which part of that literature applies.

What studies have found

A 2012 analytical study identified a preparation called TB-500 as an acetylated short fragment of thymosin beta-4. It developed methods to detect that fragment and its metabolites, rather than testing healing or recovery outcomes.

The fragment and full-length thymosin beta-4 are different materials. The supplier's sequence confirmation is needed before applying formulation-specific findings to this vial.

Chemical reference

The cited analytical paper identified N-acetyl-LKKTETQ, a thymosin beta-4 fragment, in a preparation called TB-500. That does not establish the sequence of this listing. Full-length thymosin beta-4 and this fragment must not share an assumed formula, mass or research profile.

Selected literature and reference information checked 11 September 2026. Study findings concern the preparations and models described; they do not certify this product. For laboratory research only.
